Hello! My name is Fin.

Or Finny. Or Jabba. Or Stinky. lisa-mom says my real name is Starsong Finale -- I'm named for my daddy and my mommy and I'm their last baby -- but nobody EVER calls me THAT. Mostly I'm just Fin.

I'm getting big and I love to go exploring and discover new things. Why just today I learned how to climb up the front of the sofa and the office chair! I spent the whole evening climbing up and down the sofa. I wouldn't hold still even for a minute so lisa-mom could take pretty pictures of me. I think it's silly to pose like a little princess for her!

So I now I can get to the computer and tell you all about me. I live in lisa-mom and Ken-dad's bedroom most of the time. At night they make me stay in a little place lisa-mom calls my bedroom. It's in their bedroom, but it’s a LITTLE part of a BIG room. No fair! She says it's so I don't get stepped on in the night. But I've been practicing my climbing skills in it, too, and think I'm going to get out of there any day now. Then I'll work on climbing up on the bed with lisa-mom and Ken-dad 'cause I'd really like to sleep up there with them. Lots of times when I'm playing and get tired, I crawl on their laps and take naps. So sleeping with them all night would be great. And when I wake up and am bored, I can bite their fingers!

I also need to get over that darn gate lisa-mom keeps putting in the door of their bedroom. Last night she left it down for a little bit and Dilan and I were playing. I ran out the door and down the hall. Lisa-mom came chasing after me and told me I never get to have the gate down again. I think she thinks I'll fall off the balcony and hurt myself. I told her I'd be careful, but I don't think she believes me. Especially since she saw me almost fall when Dilan and I were goofing off.

Dilan is starting to be fun to play with. He used to give me baths if I tried to get him to play. He said I was just a baby. But now he plays sometimes. Sometimes he gets too rough and makes me cry, though. Then lisa-mom makes us stop playing. After a minute or so, I try to get him to play some more, but he's all worried that he'll get in trouble again. Dilan doesn't like to be in trouble. I don't much worry about that. When I do something I’m not supposed to, lisa-mom just picks me up and tells me I’m a naughty boy, then she gives me kisses (Yuck!) and puts me back down. And off I go to find more things to get into.

I try to play with Kali, too, but right now she's more concerned with finding a boyfriend than playing with me. Kali is too young for a boyfriend, but that doesn't stop her from trying to get one. lisa-mom says I might get to be Kali's boyfriend when I grow up. I don't know about that. She's kinda weird when she' s looking for boys. I'd rather just play. Kali does like to play with the little red fairy – it even distracts her from hunting for boys. I like the fairy, too, but I hardly get to play with it ‘cause Kali doesn’t share it very well.

Lately I've been learning all about playing and pouncing. I have lots of toys to play with. It's hard to decide which one I like best.

I love to attack mouse toys -- Shira-mom tells me the real thing is even more fun. I also like to chase sparkly teasers and teasers that look like they have mice on the end of them. The only problem with teasers is lisa-mom waves them up in the air and I forget to look there for them. I think she's hidden them somewhere and I run around looking for them until she puts them back down on the floor. Sometimes I remember to look up, but not very often. I need to work on my jumping skills so I can kill teasers in the air like Dilan and Kali. You should see them jump!

Well, this letter writing is sorta hard work. And I do have better things to do than this -- like see if Dilan is ready to play again. And maybe I'll have a snack. Or a drink of water. Or maybe I'll find a REAL mouse to attack. Anyway, I have places to go. I'll try to write again one of these days.

Love,

Fin

(Please note that you will see a number of photos of our cats and kittens that I've taken outside in a natural setting. The LostWoods cats do NOT go outside unsupervised! When we do go outside for pictures and occasional adventures, there is always one person and usually two watching them closely. We do have an outside, fully enclosed run to which the older cats are allowed access, but even then we check on them often.)
