The Warrior Cats
Danica and McCoy were still teenagers and we weren't planning to breed them until summer. But then Danica got pyometra (a uterine infection that can cause loss of fertility or even death) so once she was successfully treated and declared healthy, we put her and McCoy together the next time she went into heat. McCoy was a shy boy who never bred Dani in Sondra's sight, so we weren't sure they'd even done anything until Dani started showing signs of pregnancy. Then we worried about our "teenage mother" and how she'd do with this first litter. Well, she came through just fine -- delivering a litter of five big, beautiful, healthy babies without a peep. To say we're delighted with this combination would be an understatement! Meet our Warrior Cats!

(Please note that you will see a number of photos of our cats and kittens that I've taken outside in a natural setting. The LostWoods cats do NOT go outside unsupervised! When we do go outside for pictures and occasional adventures, there is always one person and usually two watching them closely. We do have an outside, fully enclosed run to which the older cats are allowed access, but even then we check on them often.)
