Kalispell was getting very big -- we'd taken to calling her Kali Cantaloupe or Ms Honey Dew because she looked like she's swallowed a melon whole. Well, her size was not deceptive. On the afternoon of May 7th, she delivered 8 babies -- the biggest litter for a girl here at LostWoods. The first two were very difficult deliveries and sadly we lost the second baby, a little boy we named Durnik. The other seven were smaller than average, but still decent sizes for this many kittens. We are very excited about watching them grow up and seeing how Kali's first litter develops.

(Please note that you will see a number of photos of our cats and kittens that I've taken outside in a natural setting. The LostWoods cats do NOT go outside unsupervised! When we do go outside for pictures and occasional adventures, there is always one person and usually two watching them closely. We do have an outside, fully enclosed run to which the older cats are allowed access, but even then we check on them often.)
