One of Shadow's most endearing/most annoying habits is his need to snuggle up to me and knead whatever part of me is most accessible -- generally my chest or arms. Often this is accompanied by sucking on my pajamas. While this is rather cute and sweet in small doses, some nights he is a real pest and insists on cuddle sessions every hour or so all night long. It's not that simple to sleep through being kneaded by a purring furball, especially since those claws get into the act part of the time. (Although, it certainly motivates me to keep those claws clipped!)

Last night was one of those nights. By 3:00 a.m. I'd had it and took to snuggling down into the covers so that I was completely covered, thus foiling any attempts by the Peanut to knead body parts.

So I thought.

However, after giving up on the front of me, the wily boy climbed over me and discovered that my neck was still available for attention. And so he commenced to kneading away at my neck and shoulders. OOOOOO! Now that was nice! All the driving I've been doing to cat shows has left tense and sore muscles and his kneading was like a little neck massage. More! More!

Now if I could just convince him to do my entire back...

(Please note that you will see a number of photos of our cats and kittens that I've taken outside in a natural setting. The LostWoods cats do NOT go outside unsupervised! When we do go outside for pictures and occasional adventures, there is always one person and usually two watching them closely. We do have an outside, fully enclosed run to which the older cats are allowed access, but even then we check on them often.)
