It's not fair!!! My brothers say that just because I'm the girl, I'm the one who has to write our story. Okay, girls usually are the better writers, but that doesn't mean we should do all the writing. They should write our story so they'd get the practice. But no matter how many times I told them that, they wouldn't do it. So here I am, weeks late, finally telling you all about us.

Who are we, you ask? Well, we are the Victory Kittens. I'm Torianna, the only girl in our litter. I'm cursed with having three brothers to tease and torment me. Lisa-mom, who has four brothers, says it will make me tough. I'm not so sure that I need toughening up, though. I was the one who was going to teach that big dog who was boss. My brothers all sat around the corner of the couch hissing at him, but I came marching right up to him and I would've swatted him if lisa-mom hadn't scooped me up and put me on the couch by her.

When I'm not taking on the dog, I like to untie lisa-mom's shoes, play with my orange fur thing, and climb. I was the first one to go to the top of the big cat tree. These days my brothers go up there sometimes, but I go up there a lot. If Uncle Zekie isn't sleeping on the top perch, that's where I take my naps. And if he is up there, I sleep on the next highest spot. My brothers like the beds on the floor. Well, once in awhile Colyn will sleep in the little house that's about half way up the tree.

Colyn is pretty rowdy and he never knows when to stop. When he wants to play, he pounces on one of us. He bites and kicks and picks on us until we complain. You'd think he'd stop then, but he doesn't. Sometimes lisa-mom makes him stop. She picks him up and rubs his tummy and tries to get him to play with her. But as soon as she puts him down, he comes back to terrorize us again. Oh, we can hold our own with him -- I've made him squeak a time or two myself -- but it would be so much nicer if he'd just stop when we cried uncle! But when he's not wanting to play with us, he loves to cuddle up to lisa-mom and Ken-dad. He sleeps with them almost every night.

Niko sleeps with them EVERY night. He snuggles up right between them and there he stays, purring until he falls asleep. But just wait until morning comes! He's a wild man then. He jumps around on the bed attacking every thing he sees and everything he imagines he sees. Nobody and nothing is safe from him. And. boy, is he fast! He runs and hops and pounces and leaps like you wouldn't believe. I usually leave so he doesn't get me, but he stays until lisa-mom and Ken-dad get up for the day. He thinks it's his job to make sure they wake up in the morning. After that he goes downstairs and joins the rest of us playing our morning games.

Cael is the one who is the hardest to describe. Colyn is crazy; Niko is a loving goof; I'm sweet and brave. But Cael, well, he's all of those things at times. He likes to play -- but he isn't quite a wild as either Colyn or Niko. And he doesn't jump quite as high as them either. But when he gets a toy he likes, you better not try to take it from him. He bites into it and runs off carrying his prize. And if you go near him, he'll growl at you. He's very possessive. That's how I learned to protect my orange fur thing -- from watching Cael. He likes to cuddle sometimes -- I've seen him climb up on lisa-mom's lap and take a nap. And he's the nicest to me. He and I take naps together when I'm not napping on the cat tree.

I'm sure there's more to say about us. I could tell you about the helping games with play with lisa-mom every day. I could tell you about our Shira-mom and how is trying to teach us to hunt. I could tell you about Brasen and how he thinks we shouldn't be in the basement (he tried to carry Cael back upstairs!) I could tell you about teasing Lira-Bug until she gets grumpy and holds me down to groom me. I really could go on and on, but I don't want to bore you with all my stories. And really, I have better things to do than spend my day writing. I need to go show those boys that I can keep up with them. Girls rule!

(Please note that you will see a number of photos of our cats and kittens that I've taken outside in a natural setting. The LostWoods cats do NOT go outside unsupervised! When we do go outside for pictures and occasional adventures, there is always one person and usually two watching them closely. We do have an outside, fully enclosed run to which the older cats are allowed access, but even then we check on them often.)
