I was very excited about Kefira being pregnant and could hardly wait for her babies to arrive. While I've had other cats go to breeders and produce wonderful kittens, I'd never kept a LostWoods cat for breeding myself until Kefira. As is usual around here, I confined Kefira to the designated birthing room on day 61, thinking I still had several days to wait for the babies to arrive. The morning of day 62, I scooped her litter box and told her I'd see her later -- that I knew she wanted to be out in the rest of the house with everyone else, but she'd just have to stay in the bedroom. When I got home from work and went up to check on her, she proudly showed me the three babies she had delivered without my supervision or help.

(Please note that you will see a number of photos of our cats and kittens that I've taken outside in a natural setting. The LostWoods cats do NOT go outside unsupervised! When we do go outside for pictures and occasional adventures, there is always one person and usually two watching them closely. We do have an outside, fully enclosed run to which the older cats are allowed access, but even then we check on them often.)
